Clare Hodgson Meeker is an award-winning author of true animal stories, biographies, folktales, picture books, and chapter books for elementary and middle school-age children.
Her most recent book, GROWING UP GORILLA published by Millbrook Press won the 2020 Washington State Book Award for Books for Young Readers. It was also named a 2020 Bank Street Book of the Year Award in the STEM category and a Finalist for both the 2021 AAAS/Subaru SB&F Prize for Excellence in Middle Grade Science Books and the 2020 Animal Behavior Society’s Children’s Book of the Year.
